My brother is a religious man. When we were kids, he used to tell us that he wanted to become a priest. This did not happen though since he met Sally and they got married. When my sister-in-law was pregnant, my brother was so busy scanning the internet using our
portable compact laptop to find a gorgeous name for his daughter. Since my brother is religious, he opted to name his daughter after a famous saint. At first, he wanted to name his daughter Ursula. But when his wife disagreed, he chose the name Veronica after Saint Veronica.
When my brother named his daughter Veronica I thought that he named her after the
Archie Comics character, Veronica or Ronnie. Aside from being religious, he was also a huge Archie Comics fan. He loves the character of Veronica even though she's mean and shallow. My brother corrected me by saying that she named my niece after the woman who wiped Jesus' face on his way to the cross. The name of that woman is Veronica. When Jesus was on the way to Calvary, she helped him.
Saint Veronica is famous for the shroud. The shroud is the piece of cloth where the image of Jesus Christ appeared. Remember when Jesus was on his way to the cross? Veronica came near him and cleaned his face with a piece of cloth. After that, Jesus' face miraculously appeared on that cloth. After Jesus died, Veronica became a faithful servant of Jesus and every time someone looks at the shroud, people are healed of their sickness whether physical or spiritual.
