Have you seen a singing mop? Yes, a singing mop! Back in 1998, I used to see this singing mop performing her first single for the movie Mulan. That song was entitled Reflection. Furthermore, she recorded her first album which produced four hit songs namely “Genie in a Bottle,” “ What a Girl Wants,” “Come on Over Baby,” and “I Turn to You.” Yes, your guess is right, the singing mop that I am talking about is Christina Aguilera, the American pop-singer who is a certified wife now. That's my first impression when I saw her. She was always dressed up in white, looking very skinny with her big head and long white hair.
I just hate this wannabe's guts so much. From the start, I am so irritated with her voice. Yes, I know she has better voice quality compared to rival Britney Spears. Her voice can be compared to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. But, I'm finding it hard to appreciate her. Forgive me if I'm being rude but her song Dirty really fits her. She's trying too hard in her videos. Yes, she can dance, she can sing, but she sings without a heart. It's just pure voice and talent, no emotions, no conviction at all. How can you appreciate such artist, if you can call them that?

Everyone was stunned when she first hit the music scene with her notable single “Baby One More Time." Many were mesmerized with the charm of this brown-eyed bottle blonde in a schoolgirl outfit who appeared in that phenomenal music video in 1999. Definitely, the world was in shocked when the then seventeen year-old Britney Spears entered the scene. Other songs that made Britney stood out as compared to her competitors were (You Drive Me) Crazy, Opps!...I Did it Again, Lucky, and Stronger. These are songs the beat of which will remind you of the teenager turned to a pop icon. Often tagged as the next Madonna, Britney proved that she was deserving of her fans adoration. She bagged some awards and nominations from different award-giving bodies like the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards. She also broke a lot of records in terms of album sales. Truly, she lived up to the name of Madonna, who agreed that Britney was her second coming.
However, it was not easy to be a Britney Spears. She had been a subject of several intrigues which she handled very well. Despite her youth, she passed the turmoil of fame with flying colors. Until now that she has her own family, controversies still follow her. Now, she is expecting her second baby and seems very happy and contented with her life being a mother. She mentioned in a recent interview that she will be back in 2007. So expect something big from Britney next year! Will she hit it again?

Let's just accept the fact that Kelly Clarkson is the only American Idol who have lived up to her name as a winner of this talent search. Look at her now, she dominating the Billboards Charts, as well as the sales. With two Grammy awards for her album, Breakaway, Kelly Clarkson must be in seventh heaven right now. Kelly's first album "Thankful," released in 2003, debuted in the number one spot in both the US Billboard 200 and Canadian albums chart. It reached the double platinum mark for sales of two million copies on December 8, 2003.
Kelly's popularity is not surprising. She is the first winner of the American Idol and people will definitely look up to her. However, to say that she just rose to fame because of AI is absurd! The girl has the talent, no doubt. She definitely has what it takes to be a great singer. Do you think she will win if she does not have a talent? She is also able to shift from pop to rock-influenced type of music which proves her versatility.
I heard Kelly's songs and they were all great. My personal favorite is her song Breakaway, which was co-written by Avril Lavigne, Bridget Benenate, and Michael Gerrard. Right now, Kelly is preparing for her next album next year. One of the possible songs that can be included in the album is "Go," which is featured in a commercial and advertising for the Ford Motor Company.

Everyone knows Madonna, the Queen of Pop. Girls imitate her fashion styles while singing "Like a Virgin." Men are contented looking at her nice figure and raunchy performance. She is also dubbed as the " Material Girl." Almost all people have a copy of her albums, either pirated or original. She has a very long birth name, Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, yet people can easily recognize her in just a single name. On top of several awards, The Guinness Book of Records hailed her as the most successful female recording artist of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of 120 million albums in 2000.
However, this award-winning artist is not just a singer. She's also an actress, dancer, songwriter, and an author. Complete package, right? Oftentimes, people compare her with singer Britney Spears. Both can sing, dance, never mind the acting. Remember when Madonna performed with Britney and Christina Aguilera in the MTV Video Music Awards? It became controversial when she kissed both Spears and Aguilera during the performance. It was so freaking hot when I saw it. She can surprise you anytime. Off the camera, Madonna is simply “Mrs. Ritchie”. That's what you will see in her letterhead. From a Material Girl, she's now a family woman.

This girl is always in the news. When you turn on your TV, you will also see her guesting in some TV series. She constantly attends different parties and social gatherings. When you go to the music store, you will find her album there, well, not to include her controversial sex tape. When you go to the bookstore, you might bump to the book entitled "Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose" which she wrote and became a New York Times bestseller. When you check the tabloid, there are always write-ups, mostly negative, about her. It looks like every one is going gaga over Paris Hilton. Everyone has their own opinion of her latest "adventure" or escapade. Let's ignore it whether it is negative or positive. Let's just put it this way, it's all publicity. As we all know, publicity, whether it is good or bad, is still a publicity.
The way I see it, Paris can actually live a simple life. Imagine how much money she has excluding the money she got from endorsements, modeling, and other deals. Her money being an heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune is more than enough to make a living. She can live her life spending those money whenever she wants, but she opted not to. Well, she still spends a lot but at least she has other sources. Now, whatever Paris is doing is her choice, and I admire her for being so true to herself. I'm not her fan or a distant relative, but every time I read something bad about her, I feel disgusted on these people because I know they're doing it for the sake of money. They're doing it because they know that Paris is in demand these days and they need her to make their magazines and tabloids sell.

Who says Martina Hingis is off the court for good? It's a big no! Martina is back with a vengeance to prove to everyone that her tennis career is far from taking the bench. As we all know, she stopped playing tennis for three long years because of an injury. But before that injury, she captured five Grandslam trophies including three Australian Open, one Wimbledon, and one US Open championship. Martina, who hails from Switzerland, is also a former number one tennis player in the world.
After three years, her legions of fans can once again cheer for her as she battles both new and old colleagues. Six months after her official comeback, she has already climbed to the number 15 spot in the world rankings. This is one proof that she is determined to bring back the old Martina that her fans longed to see. I also found out that this 25-year old lass is currently dating fellow tennis player Radek Stepanek. Well, I have never seen her swing the racket since her return. I just hope that the old Martina form is truly back. Just like most of you, I also miss her refreshing smile. She is still young and I know she still has that magic we saw in her glory days. Cheers for Martina Hingis!

I must say that the movie "Speed" is one of my favorite movies of all time. Aside from its great plot and action scenes, I like it because of the chemistry between Keanu Reeves and the lovely Sandra Bullock. The movie was shown in 1994 and I admit I was one of the first to watch it on its opening day. Sandra was so young and sweet then, of course even up to now. Well, there's no doubt that she is one of the most versatile actress in Hollywood. She can do comedy like what she did in Ms Congeniality. She can star in an action flick like Speed and Speed 2. She can take dramatic role like in The Lake House, her second movie with Keanu. That's how talented and versatile Sandra is.
When I watched the movie, I definitely felt envious of Keanu. He is such a lucky guy to be paired with my Sandra. I know for a fact that it's not only me who felt that emotion. And I think right now, that same feeling is present again in their movie, The Lake House. Sometimes, I just tell myself, how I wish I could be Sandra's leading man. I bet that will be one of the most memorable happenings in my entire life.

Have you seen the movies Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring? If you have seen these movies then probably you have witnessed the acting prowess of today's hottest woman on US. Yes, I am talking about Scarlett Johannson who topped the 2006 FHM's 100 sexiest women in the world. Scarlett rose to fame with her debut movie Lost in Transition and since then, she became one of today's sough-after young actresses in Hollywood today. Scarlett came from a family of artist. Her grandfather was a screenwriter and director and her older sister, Vanessa, and twin brother Hunter, are both American actors. As what they say, "talent runs in the blood." She had received different nominations and citations from different award-giving bodies like Golden Globes and British Academy and Film and Television Arts. The latter awarded her a best actress trophy for Lost in Translation in 2003.
Aside from being an actress, Scarlett is also a model. She has endorsed Calvin Klein and appeared in different commercials. In 2005, she became the spokesperson of Louis Vuitton, a French luxury brand. L'Oreal just named her as its spokesperson early this year. A number of movies has been named to include her in the cast. Among these are The Black Dahlia, Scoop, The Nanny Diaries, The Prestige, Borgia, and Brilliant. With these movies, Scarlett is definitely one of the busiest actresses today.

Jennifer Aniston is one of today's busiest actress in the Hollywood. After her break-up with her former husband Brad Pitt, it looks like Jennifer is ready to go on with her life. And one way to do it is to make movies. Last year, she starred with Kevin Costner in the movie, Rumor Has It. She also filmed The Break-Up with actor Vince Vaughn. Aside from these films, she did also "Derailed" with Clive Owens and "Friends with Money". Right now, three movies have been announced to where she is casted. These include Diary, The Senator's Wife, and Wanted with veteran actress Meryl Streep.
It really looks like that after her much-publicized relationship, Jennifer is moving on right now with her career and her life. She is keeping herself doing movies now instead of talking about the separation. She also stopped from commenting about the relationship of her former husband and Angelina Jolie. What she wants right now is to concentrate more on her career. After the separation, Jennifer has been linked to several men including her leading man Vince Vaughn, however, they never admitted it. For now, her priority is her career. After all, it will come at the right place at the right time.

Let me ask you something? Who is the Halle that you know aside from Hollywood actress Halle Berry? No one? That's how unique she is. This Academy-award winning actress and model is Halle Maria Berry in real life. She has portrayed a lot of role in movies and on TV. Among her movies are Catwoman, Die Another Day opposite Pierce Brosnan, Gothika and Swordfish. She won her best actress trophy in the Academy for Monster Ball where she played the role of Leticia Musgrove, a widow who is struggling to raise her son for several years. However, above all this, Halle Berry will be remember best for her role as Storm in the XMen Trilogy. Storm is very prominent to kids because she possess the power to control the weather, including lightning, rain, snow, and wind, which she can use to make herself fly. Storm often served as the leader of the team.
Halle has been involved in a number of controversies. That's acceptable because she is a public figure and the press are always observing her. But one thing that she is very vocal about is the issue of racial discrimination. According to her she still believe that there will come a time that color and race wont matter anymore. She is hoping that she can still see it, unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet.

A lot of men felt envious of Paul Walker last year when he starred with Jessica Alba in the movie, Into the Blue. This American actress, a native of California, is a certified hottie. Aside from Into the Blue that was shot in The Bahamas Islands, she also starred in Fantastic 4 and Sin City. Both of the sequel of these two films are in production already. Definitely, Jessica has captured the eyes of the audience with her charismatic look and gorgeous body. I remember watching her in the movie "Honey" wherein she showed her dancing skills. Jessica was also included in different magazine's survey last year as one of the sexiest women in the world today.
In 2001, Jessica suffered anorexia and kidney infection. Accordingly, she is now suffering from motion sickness that developed after childhood. She also revealed that she had obsessive-compulsive disorder when she was a child. Jessica is also likes animals except rodents, cats, and reptiles. Aside from being an animal lover, she is an environmentalist. Jessica knows that one of the factors why she is popular today is because of her body. However, she said that she does not want to be typecasted as a sex-kitten. She wants people to take her seriously as an actress.

Back in 1993, most kids were addicted with a television show, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. These are group of six youths chosen by Zordom to defend the Earth against Lord Zedd and her army that includes Rita Repulsa. Initially, this group is made up of three men named Jason, Zack and Billy and two ladies, Kimberly and Trini. Later Tommy, played by Jason David Frank joined the cast as the Green Ranger.
American actress Amy Jo Johnson, also a star of the series Felicity portrayed the role of Kimberly Ann Hart as the Pink Ranger. Kimberly is the type of person who always joined different school activities. She is known for her cheerleading skills and even won president in the election for students organization. This ranger was also good in speaking sign language, cooking, singing and playing the guitar. On the other hand, Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger was played by the late Thuy Trang. Thuy Trang was a Viatnamese-American actress who died in a car accident on September 3, 2001. She was one of the passengers on Interstate Highway 5 when the vehicle she was riding lost control. Trini was known for her martial skills, sense of humor, her being an environmentalist and compassion for her friends, her cousin Sylvia and Uncle Howard.
I am sure you have your own favorite between these two ladies. Some may choose Kimberly because she is more charming compared to Trini. Others may prefer Trini because she has a strong personality. But, whoever you like better, there's no doubt that both of them made the Power Rangers more exciting and engrossing to watch.

They say the only thing constant in this world today is change. One best example is the trend in our technology. Years ago, we were contented already having a colored cellphone with its ringing tones. But nowadays, we even have phone with camera and other highly-advanced features. In Hollywood, we usually watch films of Julia Roberts like Pretty Woman, Monalisa Smiles and Runaway Bride. Nowadays, teenagers love watching movies of Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff. They even launched their own music albums to determine who is the real multimedia star. Another rising star is Julia Roberts' niece in the person of Emma Roberts who starred in the movie Aquamarine. She is currently doing the movie Nancy Drew, which is based on the book with the same title.
In the sporting scene, tennis has the young and very promising Maria Sharapova who is considered as the highest-paid female athlete in the world today. Golf has its own contribution, too in the person of teenager Michelle Wei, who was able to qualify in some competitions exclusively for men. These are the female names that we usually hear and encounter nowadays. They are famous females who have make their mark despite being young. Now, the question is "can they maintain whatever fame they have right now."

Lindsay Lohan is considered as one of the highest-paid young actresses in the Hollywood today. Known for her movies such as The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Herbie Fully Loaded, Lohan is also a trend-setter to the teenagers. She started as a model for magazine ads and television commercials when she was a still a child. Right now, Lindsay is busy doing three movies, Bill, Georgia Rule, and Speechless. Her latest movies were Just My Luck with Chris Pine and A Prairie Home Companion with award-winning actress Meryl Streep. She just finished Bobby, an Emilio Esteves film, alongside with Elijah Woods. However, being a Lindsay Lohan is never easy. The media always scrutinize her professional and personal life, including her nightlife, her health and her family.
But Lindsay remains strong about this. Right now, there's another field she is venturing - and that is singing. She released her first solo album entitled Speak back in 2004 which debuted at the number four spot in the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 261,762 copies. Later, it reached the platinum status. Her next album, A Little More Personal (Raw) was released in December 2005 and was certified as gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (or RIAA) for shipping 500,000 copies.

I have always been impressed with Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman. I consider her a very talented and strong woman. Since her break-up with her former husband Tom Cruise, her career have nothing but exceptional. Remember her movie, Moulin Rouge where she won as the Golden Globe's Best Actress in a motion picture - musical or comedy category? In this movie also, she was able to show that she was not only good in acting, but she could also sing and dance. In her next movie, The Hours, Nicole won an Academy Awards as best actress. She also received citations and good reviews from different award-giving bodies in the world.
Right now, Nicole has an array on movies in her name. She just finished Fur and The Visiting. She will also film the movie entitled "The Lady from Shanghai" and an untitled film where she will be starring with fellow Australian actor Hugh Jackman. Despite busy schedule, Nicole is one celebrity that never forgets to share her blessings. She is publicly supporting charities and causes. Just this year, she received Australia's highest civilian honor when she was made a Companion of the Order of Australia. This award was for her service to performing arts and for her charitable work. Truly, Nicole stands out from the other celebrities because she is a woman of exceptional talent and great heart.

Whenever I hear the name "Stefanie," the first one that I remember is Steffi Graf. Being a winner of 22 Grand Slams singles titles, Steffi Graf is considered as one of the greatest woman tennis player of all time. This amazing athlete from Germany is the only athlete to receive "Golden Slam," meaning she has won all the four Grand Slam singles tournaments and the Olympic gold medal in 1988. She also holds the longest record of being the number one both for male or female for 377 weeks. She even won all the Grand Slam tournaments (Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open and the Australian Open) at least four times each.
That is the reason everytime I hear her name, I cannot resist but be overwhelmed with all her accomplishments and awards. I begun to wonder, will there be another tennis player that can duplicate or surpass what Steffi has accomplished? Will it be Amelie Mauresmo from France who is rank number one today? Well, that is remained to be seen. After retiring, Steffi married another tennis superstar Andre Agassi after two years of courtship. They have been blessed with a son and a daughter. From a certified tennis star, Steffi has evolved to be a certified mother to her children and wife to Andre.
Move over Anna Kournikova because the new tennis princess is here and she does not only have the face, much more the talent and charm. Who is she? She is the 6'2" Russian Maria Sharapova who grew up in the United States together with her father. At the age of four, Maria started playing tennis using the racket given by Yevgeny Kafelnikov's father. It was in 2004, when she rocked the world when she became the third youngest Wimbledon winner at the age of 17. She also captured the number ranking of women's tennis at the same year. Right now, Sharapova is still the number 1 Russian woman tennis player in the world.
However, it is not only in the tennis scene where Maria's star shines. She is also a celebrity endorser for Canon, Tag Hueur, Palmolive, Prince, Land Rover, and Nike. In 2005, Masha was listed by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful celebrities in the world. In the same year, Forbes Magazine listed her as the highest-paid female athlete in the world with an annual earning of $18 million. What's amazing regarding this girl is her level of maturity considering she is only nineteen. I remember when I was reading an article about her, she commented that she does not pay that much attention when it comes to the ranking. What she is more concerned her health because according to her, she can attain that number spot again once she is healthy. And, she knows that she will be playing more years, so she's not on a hurry.

Producer Aaron Spelling, the same man who brought us the 90s phenomena Beverly Hills 90210 and the hip and sexy Melrose Place, has been coloring the world of television since the 70s when he introduced Charlie's Angels. The television series first aired in 1976 and ran for about five seasons. The show's cast changed substantially over the life of this show, as actresses left for various movie, TV, and modeling deals. The gained recently gained popularity when it was adapted into a film starring Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz.
It was the story of three police officers: Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett), Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson), and Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith). Instead of their skills being wasted on filing documents and answering phones, an anonymous millionaire named Charles Townsend hired them for his own private investigation agency. John Bosley is the assistant and liaison as the three "Angels" go undercover as models, strippers, or cocktail waitresses in their investigations. Jill was the first to leave the agency when she pursued a career in auto racing. She was replaced by her sister Kris (Cheryl Ladd). Sabrina also left to start a family, and she was replaced by debutante Tiffany Welles (Shelley Hack), who was then replaced by street-smart New Yorker Julie Rogers (Tanya Roberts).

Her face became the symbol of Hindu beauty all over the world. Aishwarya Rai enchanted movie critics when she appeared in the 2002 Bollywood film, Devdas, which premiered in the Cannes Film Festival. But prior to her movie career, she had worked as a model and was crowned Miss World in 1994. Rai is currently one of the highest-paid actresses in India and in 2000 was voted Most Beautiful Miss World of All Time.
Rai was born in Mangalore, in the South Indian state of Karnataka on November 1, 1973. She began modeling while studying architecture in Ruparel College, Matunga, Mumbai. After her reign as Miss World in 1994, she then worked as a professional model, in advertising and Indian fashion magazines. She made her film debut in Iruvar (1997), but her breakthrough performance came in 1999 for the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The recognition that she gained for the film Devdas paved the way for acting in a foreign film in 2004's Bride and Prejudice, which was a Hollywood-funded but Bollywood-ized version of Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride and Prejudice. Aishwarya Rai had appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and was featured in shows 60 Minutes and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The woman behind the phenomenal Harry Potter is now richer than Queen Elizabeth II. According to the Forbes magazine, her estimated net worth is $1 million, most of which came from the Harry Potter books. Sometime in 2001 she was accorded an OBE (Order of the British Empire), a medal of achievement bestowed by the queen.
As if these laurels are not enough, Rowling, who hails from England, is also the first to become a US dollar billionaire by writing books. Truly, her success is legendary. Now she enjoys the prestige of having her name included in the roll of the "Women we Envy the Most" and "The World's Billionaires."
Unknown to many of us, this internationally-acclaimed author's real name is Joanne Rowling and not Joanne Kathleen Rowling as it has been popularly assumed. The publisher of her first Harry Potter story volume suggested that she use two initials rather than disclosing her first name. Surprisingly, which stands for Kathleen came from her grandmother's name. It must be noted that Kathleen as never become a part of her legal name and that she is fondly called "Jo" by her family and friends.

It is always fun and interesting to explore unfamiliar places. The same principle could be said of names. When you encounter a name that is not that commonly used or not usual to hear, it seems that you have found something extraordinary that you can call your own.
Another name that I would like a girl to be called is Madison. I know, it reminds me very much of that famous movie in the last decade, Bridges of Madison County, which was starred by Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. What I like about the name Madison is its inherent versatility, not only when it comes to location or place, but also to its appropriateness for a person's name. Not only is it fit for a girl, but it is also fit for a boy. When you splice its meaning, Madison actually stands for son or offspring of a mighty warrior.
Even though Madison is very unique, especially in Asian countries, it is definitely of Western origin. In fact, Madison is one of the top three names used in the United States last 2005, with almost twenty thousand boys and girls bearing the name. Madison also has different variants such as Madyson and Madisyn in modern English, and Maddison.

I must admit that I am one of those people who are fond of striking names. Unconsciously, I am always in the quest for names of people which are unique enough to spark interest, but are subtle and nicely adequate to be accepted in society. That is why I am so glad many women are standing up and appearing constantly in the public, because I really think that women are gifted with the most beautiful names in this world.
I am not being discriminating or anything, but I feel that African women have the most wonderful and distinct names on this planet. Their names sound exotic, rich, and distinct, yet they are modern and very friendly and easy to pronounce with the tongue. Take, for instance, the name of the talented musical entertainer, Beyonce Knowles, who stars in the Pink Panther movie. Beyonce is an African-American who goes back to her roots through her very name in show business. Many people are not aware that when they utter the name of the independent "Naughty Girl", they actually say, "beyond others." On the other hand, I think Beyonce lives up to expectations and to the meaning of her name with her willingness to share her music to the rest of the world.
If you are thinking of naming your girl Beyonce, you can absolutely do it. Did you know that Beyonce is one of the African names that are considered unique? This is because it has only been bestowed on less than a hundred and fifty girls in the last few years in the United States.

I have always admired Serena Williams play in the tennis court, she shoes strength and calmness at the same time. That's a bit hard to do, given that you're playing for a world title. Serena, as i always perceived the name, always reflects on mermaids, i don't know why. Serena just seems right for a mermaid's name don't you think?
The name Serena is of Latin origin, and it means "serene, the peaceful and calm one", it can also be "tranquil and mild". based on the numerology of this name, a person named Serena is most likely to be competent and practical, this person is most likely to be wealthy and of great power. In short, most females who are named Serena are successful in life, achieves everything in all all aspects of their lives. And i think Serena Williams is just that, the symbol of womanhood and power.

Sally seems like a very popular name and I think everyone knows a Sally, right? I remember the Tim Burton animation movie " The Nightmare Before Christmas." The woman's character is Sally, the lovely melancholic Sally. I like this movie a lot, especially Sally's character. Sally saved Jack from the movie. She taught him a lot of good things and so I guess the name substantiates the meaning, which means "saviour" in Spanish.
There are similar names to Sally, like Sal, Salaidh, and Sallie. The name's Hebrew variant is Sarah, and it means "princess." You can also use Saletta, Sallette, Salcia, Salley, or Salliane. It's a widely used name in the United States. Since 1990, girls have been named Sally, it ranks 167th out of the surveyed 4,275.
