Female Middle Names

Queen Elizabeth II's middle names may have meant traveler or ruler. When the reigning queen of England was crowned, she turned into a globe-trotter and an instant international icon. She was preceded by King George VI, her father, who died when she was still a young heir. She enrolled in the military and married the Duke of Edinburgh. In reality, she may have been the Queen of 16 independent nations within the Commonwealth Realms, but she only exercises little executive power in her rule.

The long-reigning English queen was known as Lilibet when she was still a young girl. She, and other members of the royalty, have probably set the trend for inserting multiple middle names for women. Her complete name, royalty style aside, is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. She acquired her first middle name Alexandra from her great grandmother on the King's side, and the second one, Mary, from her grandmother.

Queen Elizabeth II was an active queen ever since she had been crowned, but there had been lapses in her presence, especially on the highly publicized Diana and Charles divorce. Perhaps she had seen enough of the controversies involving her offspring and didn't want to meddle further on the last one. Still, she ruled the UK and other British principalities as any loyal leader would - establishing ties with other nations and overseeing the territory's military power and economic state. Generations under her rule even coined a term "Elizabethan age", following after Queen Victoria's "Victorian age".

I find single first names as yes, simple, but dull as well - it's an epitome of having the exact opposite of having a knack for creativity, which is the lack of it (go blame your parents or something!). Yes, there are many female celebrities who went famous with just a single name, and there are even those that do not even have family names to go with their first names, such as Madonna and Joan (yes, Arc was not her last name, and neither was of her middle one). But I noticed that we use middle names so as to reflect two personalities of women, and they usually have two (some maybe even have more), or to justify the first one, which usually lacks sense in itself.

A good example to stiffen my point a bit is Guia Roja. Guia means guide in the Spanish language, and Roja means red in Spanish as well. Having Guia for a name could do for someone who's going to either be lost or lead, and Roja would mean nothing more than the color itself, which could mean fiery, horny, or just plain mad.

But combining the two names as a first and middle one would result in a different meaning. You probably got it by now - it would mean being indoctrinated with both Russian and European post-war ideologies which pertain to society, politics, and economy. Yes, there's substance usually found in the middle.

I am not a very avid show business fan. But, sometimes, my curiosity gets me and I really want to know more about the names that Hollywood celebrities use and the real names behind the faces we see on television and movies. I am especially intrigued by the actual middle names of the females who use only one-name screen labels like Aaliyah, Beyonce or Madonna.
